Anna Podlewska is a painter, print maker and textile designer. Originally from London, UK, she trained in textiles at The University of Arts London and worked as a print designer in the apparel industry for ten years before moving to the West Coast of Ireland where she now lives.

Since 2020 Anna has developed her independent work, focussing on oil painting and screen printing. Her abstract compositions are often inspired by architectural structures and play with angular shapes and perspectives within compositions. Bold colour is integral to her works, which explore interactions between vibrant hues.

A little insight into the techniques used …

Original Paintings

Paintings are either in oil on canvas or acrylic inks on acid free paper; no two paintings are the same. Each experiments with a new colour palette and composition of shapes. All paintings are also available to order as giclée print upon request.

Screen Prints

More recently, Anna has been exploring translating her paintings into screen prints. She starts by separating the images into a traditional CMYK set up. However, instead of using standard process CMYK colours when printing, she experiments with different shades to create new interpretations of her paintings.

Riso Prints

The risograph is an environmentally friendly printing method which uses soy-based inks and is extremely energy efficient, generating a minimal amount of waste ink. The resulting prints have a beautiful texture and each outcome is unique. Printed in small batches, once they’re gone they’re gone!

Giclée Prints

Giclée printing is a fine art digital printing method, using specialist archival pigment inks and acid-free paper. This technique provides excellent depth of colour and longevity (the inks don’t fade unlike standard digital printing). These will be printed to order.

Limiting our footprint …

Our riso prints are packaged in 100% recycled cardboard materials. All giclée prints are produced by a carbon neutral partner and packaged in recyclable materials.
